Electrical Safety course development and delivery
Overview
Pattern Energy asked STL USA to collaborate on the development of a series of electrical safety training courses that incorporated in-house practices and policies with National standards in a highly engaging learning format.
The first course developed was a Qualified Electrical Worker (QEW) course based on standard NFPA 70E tailored to Pattern Energy.
This was followed by the development of a BOP Substation/PMT Switching course utilising the same methodology, standards and processes.
What we did
All course development from STL USA follows a tried and tested methodology:
- Requirements and outcomes – understanding learning objectives
- Course creation – delivery framework/teaching guide, presentations, support material/handouts
- Testing – dry runs to iron out kinks
- Delivery
- Feedback and continual improvement
What next
2025/26 will see the roll-out of the BOP Substation course at Pattern Energy locations across the country.
