Latest STL USA 5-star reviews

“Hello I’m victor, I just took the BST GWO training and Marshall was my instructor. Let me tell you he was by far one of the best instructors in the field in my 5 years of experience. I learned new things that I never knew about lanyards and poisoning lanyards and my phone about the emergency contacts if an accident happens. Thank you, Marshall.”

“Learned a lot here! Polite and helpful staff. Such a comfortable environment to learn! They have a variety of up-to-date equipment and all instructors are very knowledgeable in their respective trades. If you need GWO (BST, ART, or BTT), this is the place to go!
Very happy with my experiences here. Every single person who works here is just awesome.
I qualified GWO BST, ART, and BTT as a teacher here. They are very informative and can help you to teach these courses effectively in a limited amount of time. If I ever have to teach more courses, I will go here!!
Great up-to-date equipment too. They got a ladder lift recently!”

“Had a great time learning and meeting everyone. They make learning about safety fun and taught me a lot about the industry.”

“Informative, Transparent, And Extremely Knowledgeable Class And Instructors!”

“Great facility to train at whether you are a new to GWO training or you just need a refresher course. Have gone through tons of training and this was one of the more enjoyable experiences. They have extremely professional staff that keeps you involved in class with great demonstrations. They also offer classes in Spanish as well as English which is really great if you have employees that speak both. Absolutely recommend STL in Abilene.”

The reviews above highlight some of the key features of the STL training courses:

  • Knowledgeable instructors with real field experience
  • A commitment to teaching beyond the standards
  • Multi-lingual courses, ensuring all technicians get the best teaching experience

Low and High voltage electrical safety training and a round-up of OMS

STL USA are delighted to announce the launch of our latest safety course. Our low and high voltage electrical safety training to standard NFPA 70E is a wind-specific, face-to-face training program designed to equip wind technicians with the electrical safety knowledge, best work practices in electrical safety, and how to apply them in real-world situations.

This is a 2-day face-to-face training course designed to meet the needs of the wind industry and has been developed in conjunction with our OEM partners.

You can find out more about electrical safety training to standard NFPA 70E on the course page.

OMS 2023

Once again OMS was a great opportunity to meet friends and colleagues and connect with the wind industry. STL USA was focussed on developing the workforce of the future, our VP Ben Dickens took part in a panel discussion and we talked with many interested parties on how we, as an industry will achieve this. As a training provider, we are not only a big part of this discussion but a key enabler of industry growth. With this in mind, we hope to soon announce our involvement in a number of related ACP workgroups.

At the show, we were also joined by our colleagues from Cresto Group who showed a range of their market-leading safety ad rescue equipment specific to the US market.

With the future firmly in our sights STL USA will soon be launching a range of platform specific technical training courses. OMS was a great opportunity to talk with our customers and partners about how these can best serve their needs.

To sum up the show. The venue was great, the Sun was shining in Orlando and the show was well attended. Roll on 2024

Join us at Cleanpower Operations, Maintenance and Safety 2023

Once again we’re looking forward to exhibiting at Cleanpower Operations, Maintenance & Safety. This year brings a change of venue to the Marriott World Center Orlando. Whilst we will most certainly miss San Diego we’re looking forward to some Florida hospitality and a chance to reconnect with our customer base from all over the country.

This year our VP Ben Dickens will be taking part in a panel discussion alongside Dan Ortega from GWO and Billie Jones from TSTC. They will be discussing training the workforce of the future, something on everyone’s mind. This is particularly relevant given the striking demand for workforce growth wind will see over the next 10 years. Ben and Billie particularly will be keen to discuss how industry training such as GWO can be incorporated at an earlier stage in education and how this can ease training pressure on employers and speed up recruitment.

STL USA will be exhibiting at stand 507, come and say hi! We will also be joined by our colleagues from Cresto Group who will be showcasing a range of PPE and rescue devices specifically for the US market.

As ever it’s sure to be a great conference, we can’t wait to see familiar faces and meet new customers.

See you in orlando.

We’re excited to have secured our place at the AWEA O&M Safety conference 2021 in Round Rock, Texas. As we’ll be on our home turf in Texas we’re hoping that our entire crew will be joining us. It’ll be a great opportunity to meet instructors, our commercial team and check out new equipment. Head over to AWEA for more details, we hope to see you there.

More course availability

Through the second half of 2020, we used some of our Covid downtimes to bring additional trainers through our in-house program. What this means for our customers is more courses at more venues. In the coming months expect to see a weekly course in Texas for both Basic Safety Training and Refreshers and a minimum of 2 courses per month for both. We will also be adding GWO Advanced courses to our program and beginning to schedule Basic Technical Training as distancing restrictions allow.

Growing Partnerships

Working closely with strategic partners is central to Safety Technology’s global growth and this is no different in the USA. 2021 will bring a host of new announcements of partners delivering Safety Technology GWO accredited training courses. The first of which is with our partners in Kansas City, Pinnacle Career Institute. Currently, training Working at Height PCI will soon be delivering the full Basic Safety Training course from the accredited site in Kansas City. We’re excited to be developing these additional modules which will be available for in-house students and external companies looking for training.
